Bissell Power Clean Corded

Four out of five stars. This vacuum handles our busy household really well, picking up dog hair, cracker crumbs, tracked-in dirt, and all the random stuff my kids carry on them. The suction is noticeably stronger than a couple of cordless vacuums I've owned, and I like that the cord means it won't die halfway through cleaning. That said, the cord length only covers about two rooms before I have to unplug and switch outlets. I can usually do the living room and dining room together, but by the time I get to the kitchen I'm hunting for another outlet. When I'm trying to clean the whole house in one go, it slows me down. It's also heavier than my previous cordless vacuums, so carrying it up and down the stairs isn't my favorite part of the routine. We have hardwood downstairs with a few area rugs and carpet in the bedrooms, and it does a really good job on all of them. Maintenance is straightforward. I empty it almost every time I do a big clean because of all the dog hair. We've had it for three to four months now and it's held up well considering we use it almost daily. The suction still feels about as strong as when we first got it, and I haven't had any issues with parts breaking or the motor. I have two little kids and a golden retriever, so this thing gets a serious workout. It's a solid vacuum for a busier family with pets, even if the cord and extra weight keep it from being perfect.
